01

Authorize before transferring

Confirm the recipient, business purpose and minimum necessary records before preparing a package.

02

Separate file and secret

Use an authenticated channel for the file and a different channel for its password or access secret. Encryption does not authorize a recipient.

Verification checkpoint

Test the process with redacted sample material, record the operator and date, and confirm the expected person can recover the correct version.

03

Respect the control boundary

Does not replace provider permissions, guaranteed backup, password recovery or enterprise identity management. Encryption reduces exposure when configured and used correctly; it does not establish retention law, recipient authority or guaranteed recovery.
